LOVE YOUR LOCKS: Tips to Care for Your Hair Extensions
WASHING
- Brush hair thoroughly before washing to remove tangles
- Double cleanse
- Hair mask 1x week from ears down
- Applying conditioner close to beads may lead to beads getting loose and sliding
- Use microfiber towel to blot dry

- Use wet or boar bristle brush 2-3x a day to remove tangles and to avoid matting
- Hold base of your hair extension row and brush bottom to top
- Avoid yanking on hair so it doesn’t cause breakage
- Always add a tiny bit of oil before brushing to nourish your hair
drying
- To protect your hair & hair extensions always use leave in conditioner, oils, and heat protectant
- Dry top of the wefts with a blow dryer
- Rough dry at least 80% of hair before round brushing
SLEEPING
- Always brush hair before bed
- Never go to sleep with wet hair – it can cause matting close to the scalp
- Put hair in a loose braid or low bun
- Silk pillowcase is recommended to prevent any tension and less frizz
SWIMMING
- Before swimming, wet your hair and apply moroccan oil prevent & protect spray or any leave in conditioner then braid your hair
- Once you're done swimming, use a clarifying shampoo and hair mask to lock in moisture
SUNSCREEN
- Protect that beautiful investment!
- Avoid any chemical base sunscreen that contains AVOBENZONE
- This ingredient will discolor the hair extensions to a peachy or orange tone
- I recommend these mineral sunblocks:
- Bare republic mineral spf 30, Sunbum spf 30, Coola Organic, Supergoop! Play Vitamin C Body Mist Spf50+ OR a mineral sunblock you can rub on!
